Dains Announced as British Accountancy Awards Finalist

Dains are pleased to announce that Lisa Richards has been shortlisted in the ‘Practitioner of the Year’ category at the forthcoming British Accountancy Awards.

The awards are widely acknowledged as the benchmark by which success in the UK accountancy industry is measured recognising excellence in the accountancy practice community. The ceremony will be held on 25 November at The Brewery, London. This is not the first time Dains has been recognised at the awards having won ‘Mid-Tier Firm of the Year’ in 2013.

‘Practitioner of the Year’ is a new award for 2014 and as a finalist, Lisa is one of nine individuals who have been acknowledged for providing accountancy services that have improved clients competitive advantage and have been fundamental in enabling their clients to achieve their business goals. Lisa will be judged on the criterion of professionalism, measurable success, innovation and being a role model.

Lisa has been with Dains for four and a half years and became an Equity Partner in 2013. During 2013/2014 Lisa led her team to achieve a 40% growth in earnings and registered a record year for the fourth year in a row. Measurable success aside, it is the time and commitment Lisa invests in building meaningful relationships with her clients and also her team at Dains which sets her apart from most. Lisa also takes her role in the community seriously and is an active member of the Marketing Derby Board, Chair of Derbyshire Pro Help and Treasurer and Trustee of Derwent Stepping Stones.

Richard McNeilly, Partner at Dains Comments: “Lisa a worthy finalist in this category and we are delighted that her professionalism has been recognised by our industry peers. Lisa demonstrates commitment to her clients every day through her energy and empathy and has championed Dains’ “future focused” approach. Lisa works with her clients to identify historic trends and information but more importantly also looks forward always with a keen eye on making things happen. By allowing her clients the opportunity to think about their future, they receive more holistic advice and this approach has been the catalyst for Lisa’s and her client’s success.”
