Dains Corporate Finance has acted as lead advisor on the management buyout of total logistics providers Derby Express Couriers (Overnight) Limited. The management buyout was led by the directors Lorraine Sharp and Susan Hill, whereby they acquired the company from founding shareholder Nick Taylor. The business, renowned for reliability, quality of service and customer care is a total logistics provider offering overnight parcel deliver services, a next-day pallet service and a worldwide delivery service.

During her 12 years working at Derby Express, Lorraine has driven the business forward resulting in a number of awards for quality and service. Susan has been instrumental in growing both the sales team and customer base.

The MBO means Lorraine and Susan can now lead the business during the next phase of its development and build on its already strong reputation.

The difference we made

Time was of the essence for this deal with the vendor wanting a quick completion within a 4 week timeframe. Dains rose to the challenge and as a result we were able to work quickly to produce a business plan and meet with potential funders to gain their appetite for the deal, enabling quick turnaround ability.
