We have a brand-new role within our corporate finance team, for a dedicated due diligence specialist. You would be reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Partner and Senior Manager, and will be responsible for undertaking regular due diligence assignments for a number of corporate acquirers and funders.

The Dains Corporate Finance team is rapidly expanding, and this newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a due diligence specialist to further their career and work for a number of different funders and corporate acquirers across the Midlands, advising on multi-million-pound transactions.

Due Diligence Specialist 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own career and work directly for the Partner. The current team will provide a great platform for development and career progression.

The candidate must be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), and whilst due diligence experience is preferred, candidates will be considered if they can demonstrate strong report writing skills and have previous corporate finance experience.

Dains is a TOP 60 regional firm of accountants & business advisers specialising in growing owner managed businesses in the Midlands. We have grown by over 25% in the last 3 years. Our primary offices are in Birmingham, Burton on Trent, Derby, Lichfield, and Stoke on Trent.

This is a full time, permanent position, which can be based from our Birmingham or Derby office, and currently with the option of working remotely as applicable.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with client acceptance and engagement take-on procedures
  • Undertaking and reviewing financial analysis
  • Interpretation the financial analysis for compliance with UK GAAP
  • Writing a report in a clear and concise manner to highlight any issues or concerns, and conclude accordingly
  • Identifying key deal issues and commercial observations
  • liaising with clients, target businesses and other professional advisors
  • Liaising with other services lines, for example tax
  • Managing the delivery of the projects alongside the Partner and Senior Manager
  • Business development and building relationships with key introducers of work
  • Preparation of proposal documents
  • Supporting role in business development across the firm
  • Supporting role to the wider Corporate Finance team, as required


  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • High level of accuracy, diligence and integrity
  • Technically strong with a good understanding of UK GAAP
  • Due diligence experience preferred but not essential
  • Report writing experience essential
  • Confident & organised
