Sporty Accountants Raise Money for Alzheimers

Employees at Dains have been getting active to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Three brave teams took on one of three physical challenges over one weekend, battling against the elements to raise money that will go towards vital support for people living with dementia.

Team one took on The Welsh Mountain Trial Challenge; a gruelling 30 mile hike in the Brecon Beacons , while team two completed the Lichfield 10k run and finally staff, friends, family and pets all joined together for the Cannock Chase Memory Walk.

All together the Dains Teams raised a fantastic £1,800 which is a substantial contribution to the money being raised throughout the year by the firm for the Alzheimer's Society and other worthy causes.

Michelle Eccleshall, Chairperson of ‘Dains in the Community’ the corporate responsibly arm of the firm commented: “We came up with the ‘3 teams, 3 challenges 1 weekend’ idea to push ourselves physically. It helped that by taking the trials on in teams, we were be able to keep each other motivated to reach the finish lines. We have chosen to support the Alzheimer’s Society as most of us have personal experience of knowing someone with the illness and we feel that they will benefit from the boost of funds to continue their valuable research into effective treatments for dementia.”
