Another successful year of giving for Dains..
Tuesday 12 January 2010

Continuing its strong links with the local community, Dains is pleased to announce that it has recently raised £8,000 for good causes across the region.

Like-minded businesses joined with Dains and took part in the ‘Dains Corporate Relay’, which was held in association with The Great Midlands Fun Run. In total, 16 corporate teams of four runners each took it in turn to complete a leg of the grueling 8.5 mile course to raise money for local charities of their choice.

Tracy Spare, the Events Director of The Great Midlands Fun Run accepted the cheque from the Dains in the Community team, which will now be distributed to 11 charities and voluntary organisations.

‘Dains in the Community’ was formed three years ago when the firm decided to formalise their honorary and charitable work by creating a dedicated team of employees committed to organising events, honorary work and the company involvement in supporting local charitable and voluntary organisations. Dains in the Community member Manuela Pullinger said: “The event encompasses what we are striving to achieve. It was a great opportunity to work with like minded clients and businesses to raise much needed funds and awareness for charities they hold dear. I would like to thank all the entrants and their sponsors for supporting this event and giving us the opportunity to make a difference.”

2009 was a successful year for Dains in the Community with over £20,000 raised via donations and honorary work. The firm will continue to be innovative in the way it supports the local community and we look forward to making new contacts with charitable and not for profit organisations in 2010.
