Dains pick up the charity baton…

Businesses from around the region recently joined together to take part in the Dains Corporate Relay challenge, which was held in association with the Great Midlands Fun Run, in Sutton Coldfield.

In sweltering heat, 16 corporate teams of four runners each took it in turn to complete a leg of the gruelling 8.5 mile course to raise money for their individual local charities. Although official figures are not yet out, the event is thought to of raised thousands of pounds for good causes across the region.

Dains later hosted an awards ceremony and informal lunch at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall for entrants and their supporters. Harvey Ingram Solicitors were awarded with a prize for raising the largest amount of money. Whilst the team from Freeth Cartwright Solicitors was presented with the trophy for the first team to complete the course.

This is the second year that Dains has organised this worthwhile event as well as being one of the major sponsors of the Great Midlands Fun Run. Spencer Wright, Chief Executive at Dains and participant on the day comments: “We had a great turnout this year and I would like to personally thank all of the entrants who supported the event. It was genuinely a fantastic day for all but, more importantly, it was an opportunity for local businesses to give back to the community we live and work in.”
